I am unable to comment on the detailed requirements of individual Indian Universities for PhD entry. In general, an honours degree at a high level, or a Masters degree will be the entrance requirements. Getting accepted by a supervisor, and gaining the funds to both perform the research and for the scholarship to pay fees and living expenses are usually more difficult! Again, you will have to do your own research about scholarships that might be available, maybe others in the forum can exchange experience and possible sources. Dick

Karnaker Reddy Tupally's picture

Dear Amlan, English Language proficiency is an essential requirement to do PhD in foreign Universities.PhD in Australia requires IELTS score (Minimum 6.5 band in all modules). Usually in PhD lots of thesis work and presentations should be in English. So you need to prove proficiency in Language before starting PhD.

Responding to the question about entry to PhD in Australia, I suggest that you look at the entry requirements for the university you have in mind. I think all would require evidence of English language skills and TOEFL would probably be required. There are also language schools which can help prepare for the test if this is required. Most university web sites are clear about the requirements. Hope this helps. Dick
