The basic requirements for becoming a sales repetitive in this industry are almost same everywhere. You must hold a college degree and must have knowledge and interest in science and medicine. If you want to pursue the pharmaceutical sales career in USA, you need to get some pharmacology training in addition to the above mentioned requirements. The trained sales reps are prefer by the big companies and they get a better chance to succeed in the career. The National Association of Pharmaceutical Representatives (NAPR) has designed a special certification program named CNPR for those who want to have a career in pharmaceutical sales. This CNPR program allows the fresh people to get an idea about their actual working in the industry. They are trained about major job duties like regulations of FDA and CDER, patents of drugs, pharmacy regulations and terminology, selling skills, etc.

Required qualification for Canada:

The interested candidate must have a bachelor's degree with sound knowledge about science and medicine. This is tested through the below listed accreditation exam.
In order to pursue the pharmaceutical sales career in Canada, one has to get a CCPE accreditation. The Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association of Canada (PMAC) now known as CCPE is the accrediting authority in Canada.
All those who are interested in becoming a pharmaceutical sales rep in Canada have to pass their exam to get the accreditation. One has to pass two different exams in order to get this. The first exam is related to anatomy and physiology while the second one is about pharmacology and pathophysiology.
It is not a mandatory qualification yet one has to go through it in order to have a secure career. Many of the organizations are working under the CCPE and they require this qualification.

Required qualification for Australia:

The requirements for pharmaceutical sales representative job in Australia are similar to other countries. They require a bachelor's degree and some prior experience or interest in science and medicine. Additionally, they have their set defined regulations named as ANZSCO (Australian and New Zealand standard classification of occupations).

They require skill level one for the pharmaceutical sales rep job. This classification has been particularly designed for the immigrants who want to pursue this career in Australia.
