88. Pharmacovigilance program in India - A brief review

Another biggest blunder has been committed by our pharmacists in regulatory sector with their poor or ill understood knowledge on the therapeutics and the issues thereon. [The earlier blunder was starting of pharmacy courses within 4 walls away from hospital and community environment with useless and baseless subjects and topics with no relevance to the field reality]

Here are my genuine concern on the pharmacovigilance program:

Well, I wrote this blog for the India Pharmacists Convention 2014 organized by the Udyog Development Foundation an NGO on 3rd August 2014 at the India International, Lodhi road, New Delhi to study and discuss the basic problems being faced by the pharmacists in India. The highlight was the participation of Dr. Jitrendra Bhai Patel, National President, Medical Association along with the Dr Narendra Saini , Secretary general IMAand the FDA Commissioner, Maharashtra Mr Mahesh Jagade IAS.

86 A CALL TO PHARMA ACADEME IN INDIA

Pharmacists in india particulalry at the service frontiers like retail medicine outlets and in the hospital are suffering both social and economic humiliation for no fault of them. They chosed the available pharmacy course, studied and passed the approved examination only to find themselves as an alien in the health sector with no status, identity and professional freedom besides very poor remuneration.
