Description The purpose of the position is the, effective management and execution of CSL Behring US Medical Affairs strategic initiatives in the areas of disease state and product education and research. This position supports the efforts of the franchise Medical Therapeutic Area Leader Director (MTAL) to develop and implement innovative and compliant strategies to drive educational awareness with customers. The position holder will be responsible for development and management of the tactical elements of the medical aspects of the brand plan, specifically focused on medical education, publication planning, and investigator initiated research programs. The position holder works collaboratively with internal stakeholders including members of the field-based Medical Affairs teams, as well as commercial and scientific colleagues. Assists the MTAL in ensuring that investigator initiated research projects in assigned therapeutic area are strategically aligned, scientifically appropriate and completed in an efficient and timely manner. Supports the MTAL in the planning and execution of scientific advisory meetings in assigned therapeutic area. Contributes to the development and execution of publication plans relevant to disease state and product awareness objectives Participates as an active member of the designated therapeutic brand team(s) to ensure that medical strategies are developed, implemented and communicated. Reviews promotional and educational materials for medical accuracy working through the Promotion Review Committee (PRC). Management of submission and review process for educational grant requests Attendance of appropriate national or regional medical conferences to maintain disease state and therapeutic knowledge, and provide medical information to customers. Collaborates with Medical Information Specialists to assure standard response letters in assigned therapeutic area are current, accurate, balanced and relevant to health care providers. Delivers presentations to and maintains close working relationships with internal customers (field based Medical Science Liason’s (MSL’s), Clinical Research and Development, Commercial Development as well as Marketing, Sales, Manufacturing and Regulatory). Leads/manages/ executes other projects as directed. Qualifications Graduate degree in scientific field (PharmD PhD, NP) is desired. Minimum 2 years in the pharmaceutical/biotherapeutics industry. Prior Medical Affairs, Clinical R&D, teaching or product development experience desirable.
