POSITION SUMMARY: Alkermes is seeking a highly motivated individual for the position of Research Associate within the Analytical Development group at the Wilmington, OH location. Candidate should have experience developing and executing analytical procedures for the characterization of proteins. The successful candidate should be familiar with one or more, but not limited to the following types of analyses: ELISA, gel and capillary electrophoresis, cell based assays, HPLC base methods, e.g., SEC-HPLC and RP-HPLC, UV absorption, and other modern analytical laboratory techniques. The incumbent will work on a cross-functional team supporting process development, early stage clinical release, and stability studies. Additional responsibilities include writing protocols and technical reports, author SOPs, execute and interpret laboratory experiments, and provide regular updates the working team. Abilities to multitask and work independently or with a multidisciplinary team are desired. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary and the knowledge of ICH guidelines and GMP is plus. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Education & Experience Requirements: BS degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry or related discipline and 3 to 5 years experience in the biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry; or, MS degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry or related discipline and 1 to 3 years experience in the biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry. A minimum of 2 years of experience developing assays in a cGMP environment is highly desirable.
