Job ID Number: 2014011054 Location: USA - CT - North Haven Job Description Ability to manage multiple R&D/NPI sites throughout the United States. Capable of managing NPI in multiple product franchises. Provide leadership and direction for the management of the Advanced Sourcing Group supporting Medical Devices (R&D/NPI). Lead, develop, and coordinate a team of Advanced Sourcing Agents to ensure resource coverage on Medical Device NPI project core teams. Ensure sourcing timelines and direct material cost targets are achieved against project launch commitments. Responsible for Advanced Sourcing strategies and developing team competencies around forward process technology needs of the Medical Devices Group. Coordinate with Category Management to ensure preferred suppliers are employed on all (R&D/NPI) projects. Leverages best practices across Medical Devices through collaboration initiatives throughout the division. Introduce latest advances in supplier technologies through supplier innovation summits and lunch and learn events. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Responsible for managing the Advanced Sourcing Team including setting strategic direction, measuring department effectiveness and developing cross functional improvements. Develop team competency levels to drive higher levels of performance. Responsible for Project Management of the Advanced Sourcing group in support of the Vascular Therapies NPI product portfolio pipeline. Manages sourcing timelines and components cost requirements to ensure new product launch commitments are met. Supports both internal and external product development programs. Identify metrics, tools, and processes to optimize sourcing, supplier activities, and efficiencies, and works collaboratively with team members to prioritize and drive implementation. Ensure resource alignment based on project complexity. Maintains capable supply base throughout the Advanced Sourcing organization and ensuring that project timelines in support of new product revenues can be achieved. Collaboratively coordinates with key functional core team members with supplier engagements and product development. Includes AME, PMO, QA/QE, Regulatory and R&D. Ensures full supply chain continuity via supplier capacity management and risk mitigation strategies through to the base materials. Knowledgeable of key/critical components process technologies and associated component material constraints. Develops and implements suppliers to meet current and future process needs. Leverages Center Led and Emerging Markets strategies for component development opportunities. Builds effective relationships both internal and external, and interfaces with senior management as required. Prepares and provides monthly project management updates along with tracking key project milestones and resource utilization. Works with key functions to ensure material development strategies are aligned with the business unit and manufacturing objectives. Drives Learning Curve optimization and ensures component surge capacity is achieved. Manages inventory requirements for new product requirements through the Advanced Sourcing Group. Prepares and presents project updates and monitors group key performance indicators/metrics. Education required/ preferred BS/BA Degree in Business Management, Engineering or other related field. MBA preferred Experience preferred 10+ years of Procurement, Sourcing, Engineering or/or Supply Chain Management 5+ years leadership experience managing a team Skills/Qualifications: Project Management and Lean Six-Sigma methodologies, Certification from the Institute of Supply Management (C.P.S.M.) e-Sourcing Platform (Ariba) Skills/Competencies: Excellent leadership, organization, project management, communication and negotiation skills Other Skills: Advanced skills in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to manage multiple projects and teams ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS/SCOPE: - Reports directly to the Director of Advanced Sourcing, Medical Devices.
