Job ID Number: 2014011071 Location: IIlinois Job Description Position Summary As a core member of the Operational Excellence team, the OpEx Managerwill be implementing and managing the Plant Cost Reduction Program. This will involve achieving very aggressive goals and putting the systems in place to meet the goals, in addition to providing the guidance for project leaders to meet deliverables. Additional responsibilities will be TPM, manage and lead the Quality Improvement Program, mentor six sigma and lean candidates, run process improvement projects at the Crystal Lake facility, and assist in trainings. Principal Accountabilities 1. Experience in developing and managing a Plant wide Cost Reduction Program with demonstrated results. 2. Leads plant improvement projects of significant size and scope. 3. Mentor candidates and champions in selecting projects and initiatives that align with business/functional goals and strategies. 4. Ensures project tracking dashboard is maintained and results are communicated monthly to Plant Manager and Corporate Operational Excellence Manager. 5. Communicates Operational Excellence information/news to senior management, plant management, and employees. 6. Manages the coordination and development of the organization’s Operational Excellence deployment plan. 7. Assists leadership in establishing baseline and target metrics for key processes. 8. Works with leadership in installing organizational supports for Operational Excellence (reviews, communications, rewards, software, etc.) 9.Coaches and mentors Black and Green Belt and Lean Leader candidates to ensure timely completion of their quality and/or cost focused projects- ultimately leading to the candidates certification. 10.Maintaining department budget and financial reporting. Requirements Education required/preferred: BS/BA degree in Business Management, Engineering, or other related field of study. MBA, MS or other technical graduate degree preferred. Experience: Certified Lean and Six Sigma Black Belt, with a minimum 5 years of business operations and/or plant manufacturing or engineering experience, which includes a minimum of 3+ years of demonstrated process improvement success. Preferred Skills/Qualifications: Solid past performance as a project manager. Strong analytical/statistical problem solving tools. Broad business knowledge and ability to link customer needs with business processes. Strong Coaching and Facilitation skills. Excellent oral/written communication skills and platform skills. An understanding of and proficiency in Change Management. Advanced skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MiniTab. Ability to manage multiple priorities. Skills/Competencies: Must be able to directly lead and/or co-lead high-impact process improvement projects with demonstrated results. Experience managing a multi stage deployment program for a large organization. Experience leading and facilitating Kaizen events in fast paced manufacturing environment. Experience in TPM. Ability to manage multiple projects. Ability to train, coach and mentor Proven skills working with cross-functional teams. - Presentation skills required. - Must be able to function in a team environment.
