Manufacturing Tech 1-140001UI Description 1) Supports all local manufacturing operations. 2) Supply components, small parts, glassware, tubing, etc. to cell culture and purification areas. 3) Operate general production equipment (such as parts washers, autoclave, stir plates, etc.) 4) Complete relevant paperwork following GDP/GMP guidelines. 5) Manually clean all portable equipment and small parts. 6) Participate on Continuous Improvement Teams. 7) Receive and distribute supplies into the production area as necessary. 8) Perform daily cleaning of the production area to maintain in GMP fashion. 9) Perform disposal of hazardous waste 10) May perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications • Must have good written and verbal communication skills and understanding of cGMP regulations. • Familiarity with pharmaceutical production equipment including but not limited to autoclave, DP oven and CIP/SIP. • Must be able to read and follow detailed written instructions. • Good interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively and efficiently in a team environment. • This position requires shift, weekend and holiday work. Overtime may be required at times. • The incumbent must work in a clean room environment wearing special garments. Additionally, personal protective equipment must be worn due to safety requirements. • Knowledge of basic chemical and biological safety procedures. • May require immunization before performing work within the manufacturing area. Education and/or Experience: Requires high school diploma with 0-2 year’s related manufacturing experience. AA degree preferred. Ability to read, write, speak English and communicate effectively. Should possess basic math skills. Previous work related experience preferred. Some college experience preferred. Physical Demands: • Ability to lift and / or move up to 50 lbs is required. • In general, the position requires a combination of sedentary work and walking around observing the conditions in the facility. Additionally, production/manufacturing and process validation may necessitate a change in hours, duties and/or responsibilities. Working Environment: • Must be able to work in controlled environments requiring special gowning. Will be required to follow gowning requirements and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet and body. • No make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish or artificial fingernails may be worn in the work environment. • Food and or drink are only permitted in a few designated areas. • Will work in cold, wet environment and required to climb up and into large processing tanks for cleaning. • Will work around chemicals such as alcohol, acids, and buffers. • May be required to work or be assigned to a different shift as needed. • Must be able to work overtime as required. • Inside working conditions. • Some Clean Room and cool/hot storage conditions.
