Production Manager Responsibilities Manages all aspects of production for the Durapore pleating area. Has direct responsibility for meeting production targets and ensuring product meets all quality standards set forth in the EMD Millipore quality system. Provides leadership and takes ownership for key performance metrics including MPS, SAC/SAR Responsible for keeping financial metrics such as absorption, labor spending, discretionary spending and process order variance (scrap costs) on target. Responsible for managing a team of supervisors and direct labor operators and driving a performance based and data driven culture using lean six sigma methods. Working with the Operations manager and Engineering leadership team, helps set the priority for technical improvement projects related to yields, capacity and quality. Interfaces with other business leaders such as product management, marketing operations and operations leaders from other sites in the network to execute overall business strategy and improve overall business results and customer service. Occasional air travel may be required. Skills/Experience Minimum 10 years experience in an operations leadership role. Proven ability to create a performance driven culture among direct reports and DL operators and influence performance culture among peers. Superior analytical ability in working with business performance data, product performance data and posses the ability to communicate complex data and topics in easy to understand ways. Demonstrated ability to drive large scale change projects and be a change agent within the organization both from a visionary perspective and project execution perspective. Ability to multitask in a dynamic environment while conveying a sense of order, control and calmness to subordinates. Excellent ability with a wide range of computer programs required including the Microsoft office tools, Oracle or SAP and Minitab statistical software knowledge preferred. Strong verbal, written and visual communication skills required Education Bachelors degree in a technical field required. MBA preferred. Lean six sigma training required with Black Belt certification preferred. Other certifications such as APICS or ASQ desirable but not required.
