With a presence in more than 70 countries - and growing - we look for talented people to grow our business, advance our science and contribute to our unique culture The incumbent will be an individual contributor and play a Senior Business Analyst role supporting Finance Operations, Procurement, and Legal functions to: • Serve as a senior business analyst working with the corporate Finance Operations, Legal end-users and IT project team to gather business requirements for IT projects, enhancements and other demand.. • Understand business objectives, processes, and strategies of Finance Operations and Legal business functions • Create necessary business requirements documents, workflow diagrams and specifications. • Work with IT Delivery teams to ensure requirements are understood and fully vetted for feasibility. • Conduct business process analyses, needs assessments, and preliminary cost/benefits analyses in order to align information technology solutions with business delivery initiatives • Effectively use interviewing skills to fully explore a business problem to understand requirements and needs. • As applicable, lead small to medium, low-complexity projects. • Identify, track, and maintain an inventory of business needs to be defined in detail for application systems • Elicits, analyzes, documents, and validates detailed business and user requirements; identify gaps between system capabilities and business requirements; and map capabilities to requirements to ensure that business needs are met • Process flow, sequence, and activity diagramming as well as business process mapping • Assist in the translation of business requirements into test conditions and expected results for application functionality, and user acceptance testing (UAT) • Develop and manage UAT test cases and plans. • Work with customers to establish and maintain business priorities for system solutions • Assist with the development and execution of change management and training throughout the organization during the Implementation of system solutions • Understands project management and can contribute to defining work plans and keeping track of progress. • Collaborate with IT Delivery, IT Architecture and IT PMO and work as part of the team to drive requirements and projects to completion. • Ability to work strategically and independently with internal and external groups on multiple simultaneous projects • Define business and user requirements for new capabilities, systems and system enhancements Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following: • Serve as a senior business analyst working with the corporate Finance Operations, Legal end-users and IT project team to gather business requirements for IT projects, enhancements and other demand. • Elicit, analyze, document, and validate business, user, and non-functional requirements • Develop business area process models, activity diagrams and use cases • Prepare or oversee the preparation of simulations of user requirements • Own and author UAT Plan and UAT Results Report, manage UAT execution • Prepare or oversee identification of application defects, correlate with detailed business and user requirements, and assign priorities based on business input • Prepare or oversee response to unresolved production support issues and participate in analysis and resolution on behalf of the business • Prepare or oversee identification and maintenance of inventory of business needs to be defined in detail for application systems • Prepare or oversee preparation of documentation consistent with standards for documents such as requests for proposals (RFP), service level requirements (SLR), training documents, user manuals, and work practices. • Drive development and execution of change management and training throughout the organization during the implementation and ongoing use of system applications • Understand project management and contribute to defining work plans and keeping track of progress • Facilitate meetings with business colleagues on IT topics Qualifications Strong analytical and business analysis skills to elicit business requirements and document business process maps Business acumen (Finance operations, Legal) Experience with Oracle EBS Finance modules Strong communication skills – verbal and written Strong listening, collaboration, and relationship development skills Ability to serve as individual contributor or project leader. 4 year degree, graduate degree a plus CBAP certification a plus • Span of Control – Serve as individual contributor or team leader. Act as functional business analyst for new systems or enhancements to existing systems including coordination of project team members, consultants and subject matter experts in defining business and user requirements and facilitating user testing. • Direct Reports – N/A • Indirect Reports – Facilitate and coordinate efforts across business stakeholders and technical resources. • Budgetary Responsibility - For project task level and/or specific deliverable activities. • Interacts w/ - Business and IT colleagues at all levels of the organization. Day-to-day interactions focus on business process performers, IT department leaders, and operational management. Skills/Knowledge Requirements: • 7+ years experience as Pharmaceutical Business Analyst supporting Finance, Procurement, and Legal including requirements elicitation, documentation, testing, training • Experience with Finance modules within Oracle E Business Suite (EBS) R12 • Proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project Management tools • Familiar with requirements management tools such as Blue Print Requirements Center, Requisite Pro, or similar • Exposure to visualization software such as iRise • Pharmaceutical, Bio-Technology, Life Science industry experience • Project experience with COTS and Web-based requirements, design, or development • Business analysis certification (CBAP) or Project Management (PMP) a plus • Six Sigma, Lean or Business Process Change Techniques a plus Functional Knowledge: • Awareness of business architecture • Awareness of regulatory compliance and role of systems in supporting compliance • Understands fundamentals of System Delivery Life Cycle (SDLC) • Understands fundamentals of system testing Position Skills: • Business analysis and business acumen within Finance and Legal • Project management • Meeting facilitation • Presentation skills • Written communication • Constructive influencing of colleagues to positive outcome EEO Celgene is committed to equal opportunity in the terms and conditions of employment for all employees and job applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, age, gender identity or gender expression, national origin, disability or veteran status.
