BRIEF SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic individual with a strong background in Cancer Biology. The successful candidate will be responsible for target validation, cell-based assay development and support for drug discovery projects focused on Biologics. Specifically, the candidate will be expected to design, develop and execute experiments that include new target validation, identification of biomarkers, elucidate mechanism of action, and develop assays tailored to specific project requirements as well as develop common platform assays to address current and future needs. All applicants must have authorization to work for Celgene in the U.S. *LI-KM1 Qualifications Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline (molecular or cellular biology preferred) with at least 6 years pharmaceutical research experience or a Master’s degree with at least 4 years pharmaceutical research experience. 4-6 years of successful pharmaceutical research experience as demonstrated through project team contributions and leadership. In-depth knowledge in Cancer Biology and cell death signaling pathway is required. Expertise in development of Biologic therapeutics is desired. Expertise in the study of cellular metabolism is a plus. The successful candidate will be expected to: • Design, plan and execute scientific experiments with moderate supervision • Be experienced in molecular and cell biology techniques such as Realtime PCR, Immunoprecipitation, Immunoblotting, cell culture, transfection techniques (overexpression and silencing systems), Immunocyto- and Immunohisto- chemistry. • Be experienced in the development of cell-based assays • Analyze, interpret scientific data and suggest new directions, • Accurately maintain written reports, • Organize data and reports for presentations at project and department meetings, • Independently review current literature pertaining to relevant research programs and assay techniques. The candidate must be multitask, highly motivated, innovative and a strong team player. Excellent time management and organizational skills, strong written and oral communication skills and the ability for creative thinking and problem solving are essential.
