Isoniazid(INH):

Only actively growing tubercle bacilli are susceptible to the bactericidal property of INH. The major action of INH is on the cell wall of the bacillus, where it prevents the synthesis of mycolic acid.

Other commonalty used drugs are:

  • Rifampin (Rifadin, Rimactane)
  • Ethambutol (Myambutol)
  • Pyrazinamide
