Bactereostatic antibiotic is a drug which acts by inhibiting or preventing the growth & reproduction of bacteria where as a bactericidal antibiotic is a drug which acts by killing the bacteria. Bacterostatic means which arrest the growth of microbes by means of various mechanisms Bactericidal means which kills the microbes by various mechanisms.
