Is drug or medicine's effectiveness increase or decrease after its shelf life?

Shelf life is the time that products can be stored, during which the defined quality of a specified proportion of the goods remains acceptable under expected (or specified) conditions of distribution, storage and display.Hence the activity of the drug will remain constant during shelf life and after shelf life the drug may still be safe for comsumption but it is no longer guaranteed.

As shelf life depends mainly on the storage conditions,exposure to light,heat and moisture the effectiveness of the drug may increase or decrease as it depends on the way the drug reacts to these conditions (light,heat etc)

it doesnt show any effect at all because it lost it therapeutic properties .
