Answer:
ALDOSTERONE is a hormone produced by the adrenal glands. This hormone is essential in maintaining the balance between sodium and potassium in the blood. Primary aldosterone is a condition wherein the adrenal glands produce more amount of aldosterone causing an excess loss of potassium thus retaining more amount of sodium. As a result of sodium retention the amount of water increases and hence blood volume and blood pressure increase. Symptoms: High blood pressure with low potassium level Common causes: Aldosteronoma:A benign growth in adrenal gland Bilateral adrenal hyperplasia:Overactivity of both adrenal glands.
