Free/stipendiary six-month part-time internship for Pharm D interns
Dear Sir/ Madam
India is an emerging developing country and has established hub of pharmaceutical industry. Many Indian manufactured generics are saving healthcare cost and helping the patients to have affordable medicines. However, in India there is a gap in healthcare delivery in which we feel the lacunae of Pharmaceutical care and pharmacist based services for Indian patients. The government of India has introduced Doctor of Pharmacy course under the education regulations of Pharmacy Act 1948. The first batch of six years program and several batches of Pharm D post-baccalaureate have been rolled out and are desperate to practice pharmacy. Due to slowness and sluggishness, the Pharmacy practice has remained in the hospitals with lot of hesitancy and leadership crisis.
The patients in India continue to remain in darkness and ignorance in ambulatory and community settings regarding drugs, disease and lifestyle. The Pharmacy practice has to begin in country and reach all patients to ensure adequate patient safety and good outcomes. To meet this challenge, ANN Pharmacare & Wellness LLP in collaboration with ACPI (www.acpi.in) has begun to initiate free/stipendiary six-month part-time internship. In this internship, each Pharm D intern is trained to give pharmaceutical care for 20 patients in Home Based services as per the WHO-FIP pharmaceutical care model.
What we expect from you is to adopt 5 interns who will contact you when they could not resolve a difficult issue of pharmacy practice by e-mail. You may suggest the correct approach to the intern and help in developing pharmacy practice in India.
